Field Phrasing & Boosts

Description:

Field Phrasing & Boosts contain below types of configurations that can be set by the user.

  1. Field Boost - Field boost is very similar to a term Boost Significant Terms. Here we provide a boost to the field if the search query is present in the certain document field. The boost is provided by the user, and will increase the score of the document thus pushing the document higher in the result set.
  2. Phrasing - When this feature is turned on, those documents that contain the search query phrase are boosted. Optionally, the user can also specify Phrase Boost.
  3. Bigram - Those documents where pairs of consecutive words from the search query, if found, are boosted, are referred to as bigrams. Optionally, the user can also specify Bigram Boost.
  4. Trigram -Those documents where 3 consecutive words from the search query, if found, are boosted, are referred to as trigrams. Optionally, the user can also specify Trigram Boost.
  5. Slop Value- The number of words that can occur between the phrase, or bigram, or trigram and still be considered a valid match, is referred to as the slop value.
